When Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) approached us, they envisioned extending their workspace into the level above. Having previously renovated their office on Level 38, we were entrusted once again to design and build the addition of Level 39 integrating it seamlessly with their existing space. This was not merely about adding square footage but about creating an environment that would support their evolving needs. The result is a space that enhances collaboration, hosts clients, and accommodates growth, all while reflecting EPS’s identity and ambitions.
Designing for Connection and Versatility
This project presented a unique challenge: constructing the new space while Level 38 remained fully operational. Meticulous planning and coordination were essential to ensure minimal disruption to EPS’s workflow. Every aspect of construction was carefully managed, allowing daily operations to proceed smoothly while delivering results. A key component of the design was the addition of an internal staircase, linking Level 38 and Level 39 to create a fluid, connected workspace. The two levels now function as a cohesive whole, encouraging movement, interaction, and a seamless flow between spaces.
The new level serves multiple purposes, thoughtfully designed to cater to different needs. A sophisticated dining area provides an ideal setting for sit-down events, while an open pantry encourages spontaneous conversations and informal gatherings. A lounge sofa area offers a comfortable space for light discussions or as a waiting area before meetings. Private meeting rooms ensure confidentiality and focus, while the back office, an extension of the team’s workspace, supports EPS’s growing operations, seamlessly integrated into the overall environment. Every corner of the space reflects a balance of form and function, enhancing both the workplace experience and the client journey.
